About the Role
Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and customer service-oriented Counter Salesperson to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, providing product information, and ensuring that the store is clean and well-maintained.
Greet customers as they arrive at the counter and assist them with their purchases.
Answer customers' questions about products and provide information on product features, prices, and availability.
Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of transactions, including recording sales and handling cash and credit card payments.
Stock shelves and ensure that the store is clean and well-maintained.
Handle customer complaints and issues, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate manager.
Attend to phone inquiries and provide prompt and courteous responses.
Participate in the inventory management process by performing stock checks and updating records as necessary.
Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in customer service or retail sales.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with cash register operation and basic math skills.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, if required.
